South West France is a huge region with much to offer. Steeped
in history, the region abounds with stunning architecture and offers a
quality of life unavailable to most people from other parts of Europe.
Due to the many regions within this richly diverse land, there is a
property in south west France to suit all needs. This is the region most
likely to make your dream of owning a home in France a reality.
The Dordogne region is relatively unknown but quite charming, and is
primarily known for its fine wines and superb cuisine. If water sports
are your hobby, then this could well be the ideal region for you, as
there are many ancient rivers flowing through the rolling green hills.
The rivers Lot, Tarn and Dordogne wind to the west, eroding the soft
limestone hills as they constantly flow, slowly transforming them into
tall, vertical cliffs, and creating scenic and dramatic locations for
the many villages and castles along their routes.
Just south west of the Dordogne is the region of Bordeaux. Apart from
world class wines and gourmet food, Bordeaux offers a wide range of
superb properties for sale. Located on the Atlantic coastline, the
famous vineyards of Bordeaux start when one leaves the city. It is here,
on the outskirts of this ancient city, where one will still find plenty
of property for sale of many different types. If you are looking to find
your ideal French property, one which meets all of your needs, desires
and aspirations, then it is highly likely that this region of France
will make your dream of owning a home in France a reality.
Curled into the heart of the Gironde, deep in the south west of France,
Bordeaux has a population of just over half a million inhabitants. What
is considered to be the most important of ports is located here. But
this area is probably better known for it’s stunning neoclassical
architecture, and its pervasive aura of the 18th century.
Whilst the environs benefit from a huge variety of property for sale,
Bordeaux itself offers an immaculately kept town centre, with wide tree
lined roads and well cared for public parks. Having been first settled
by the Romans in the third century, the English took over between 1154
and 1450. Hundreds of ships, fully laden with barrel upon barrel of the
ever popular “Claret wine” set sail to England from the port of
Bordeaux. This wine remains the favourite of many an Englishman today.
If you are trying to decide where in France to buy your next property,
then the south west of France offers everything you need for a superb
lifestyle. Many people choose Bordeaux as a base from which to visit
other parts of the south west of France. Whichever part of the south
west you decide upon, one thing is certain, French property for sale in
south west France is abundant and the region has plenty to offer
everyone.
