Anysubject Privacy Policy
Anysubject (during its many years as a tuition agency) accepted its responsibilities to students, clients and tutors combined with the obligations imposed by the need to operate an effective service.
Everyone has the right to feel safe and the right not to have personal information used in a way which they would not approve of. To comply with this, the policy of the agency was to issue only minimal personal information* until both tutor and student had accepted each other.
In practical terms this is how the process worked:

First meetings did not take place without our prior knowledge of the parties involved and the time and place of the lesson.

Students' details were only given out to one tutor per subject. The tutor(s) would have indicated, before receiving the details, that they could accommodate that particular student.

Tutors' details were only given to clients by tutors themselves and then, in writing, by us after initial contact had been made.

We did not give commercial organizations access to our clients or tutors.

In the unlikely event that there was a need to display any personal information on the website, it was 'general' in nature and only contained sufficient information as was necessary to complete the booking. No identifying data such as name, postcode, phone number, street etc was ever disclosed.

The company operated valid firewalls, anti-virus and anti-spyware software on its computers at all times.

We did not divulge the information of clients or tutors to third parties without permission, good cause or save where that third party had engaged us in the first instance.
This was a self-imposed code of conduct which we respectfully asked clients and tutors to assist us with. We always asked our clients or tutors to report any breach of it.
The agency is (and was), of course, registered under the Data Protection Act.
