Churchill Insurance - Its History
Churchill Insurance launched in 1989 as one of the UK's first direct motor
insurers. In 1990, they started selling Home Insurance and, over the years,
have extended their services, now providing Car Insurance, Home
Insurance, Travel Insurance, Pet Insurance, Breakdown Cover, Van Insurance and
Motorcycle Insurance.
Churchill Insurance is a UK
based company with all its call centres in the UK and sell insurance policies by
phone and on the Internet.
In 2003, Churchill was acquired
by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and now forms part of the RBS Insurance
division.
The Churchill Dog
The bulldog was used for the first time in advertising in 1994. Less than 2
years later, the Nodding Dog brand was born and was an instant hit. 2005 saw a
refresh of the brand, although the dog remains firmly at the heart of it.

Churchill Hot air balloon
The Churchill hot air balloon is in the shape of a bulldog. At over 24m high and
34m long, it’s the largest balloon dog in the world and can carry one pilot and
two passengers.
200 times the size of the
Churchill Nodding Dog, the balloon could fit 1.3 million of the plastic replicas
inside. It could also contain 49,444 real bulldogs and, if alive, would eat
24,722kgs of dog food a day! |
